The Onyx 8 CTW is an expandable column speaker designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, featuring an IP67 rating for complete protection against dust, water, and corrosion. Operating within a frequency range of 90 Hz to 18 kHz, it delivers 120W continuous power (480W peak) at 8 ohms, with a maximum SPL of 108 dB (114 dB peak) and a 120° horizontal, 15° vertical dispersion. The speaker includes a 100V/70V transformer tap supporting up to 50W, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of sound systems.
Constructed with a die-cast aluminum shell coated in matte black paint and perforated stainless steel grills, it is built for durability in challenging environments. Enhanced with Onyx Terra-Coating for additional environmental resistance, the speaker is easy to handle with its ridged body and hidden screw terminals, maintaining a clean look. Built-in wall brackets and an optional V8 column extender make it versatile and ensure reliable, high-quality sound reinforcement in diverse settings.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Painstakingly Perfect Production
Over the years, craftsmanship has been closely linked with small scale individualistic production. Back in 1972, we started the same way. As we grew in scale & size, it was difficult to build each speaker individually, but quality control was of utmost importance as so switching to a general assembly line was simply not an option. So we wrote up a code, one quite like enigma, to ensure quality control. We selected the right partners, got the right tools, and in cases where those weren't available, we invented them. We grew slower than most as our aim was to last longer than most.
